An Amazonstone, also known as an amazonite, is a gemstone variety of green microline that is often confused with jade. It is a feldspar mineral which can differ in colors from yellow-green to blue-green. Some of these exquisite stones also have fine white streaks within them. Now, there is a wide variety of beautiful Amazonite semi-precious stones available for purchase at Brightlings Beads.

 Amazonites vary in color

At first glance, Amazonite stones turn heads because of their unique look. But there is a certain luster and allure that is synonymous with this stone as well as a mythical history that dates back centuries.

The Amazonite stone was named after the Amazon River. Curiously, no Amazonites have ever been found in that area. Amazonite deposits have been found all over the world on every continent with the exception of Antarctica.

Right before the turn of the 19th century, it was the United States that became one the world’s most important source for Amazonites as Pikes Peak, Colorado produced a wealth of those stones in their natural environment.

Today, in the modern era, the Amazonite has become more than just a fashionable accessory. It is believed to be a calming stone that balances both masculine and feminine energies. Some people even sleep with Amazonites as a way of releasing negative energy.

Amazonite stones are also believed to contain healing powers which can cure a wide array of problems. Sexual disorders, acne, rheumatism and rashes are just a few of the maladies that may  be healed by Amazonites. It is that kind of healing power further evidences the soothing nature of this stone.

Amazonites can have a light blue color
The Amazonite powers do not stop there. It is considered by many to be a hope stone that can have an effect on your hopes and dreams. It also has been known to inspire confidence. On some occasions, parents have used Amazonites in an attempt to motivate teenagers who have grown lazy. There are also stories of parents hiding Amazonites in their children’s rooms to help promote tidiness.

There is even more lure when it comes to the power of Amazonites. Some say if the Amazonite stone is placed against the chest just above the heart, it can help with one’s love life. That has a direct correlation to the heart or throat chakra. Chakras all over the body can feel the effects of Amazonites, particularly when it comes to matters of the heart.

The positive energy of Amazonites has introduced a variety of different uses around the world. In Egypt, Amazonites have served as a symbol of luck and fertility. In Brazil, Amazonites were once given to the men who would come visit Brazilian female warriors known as Amazons.

That has led to modern America where Amazonites have become a much-talked about fashion piece. The exquisite color of the Amazonite goes very well with silver and also works well in bracelets, pendants, earrings and with many other ensembles.

But the Amazonite is more than the just an accessory. There is a story behind this remarkable stone which has withstood the test of time and grown in legend from one generation to the next.

Although science has not proven the healing powers that exist within the Amazonite, it remains a mystic and wondrous stone full of lure, legend and luster.
