If you’ve been to a flower shop, card store, or even a grocery store lately, you know that it’s not too early to be thinking about Valentine’s Day this year. So if you haven’t been, it’s time to start because Cupid needs help.
That little cherub has enough on his plate, and though I haven’t talked to him about it, I’m sure that he wouldn’t mind you taking over a bit of his duties this year -- and you wouldn’t even have to wear the embarrassing uniform that usually goes along with his profession.
You see, we all have brothers, sons, or just male friends or co-workers who year after year smile broadly as they hand their wife/girlfriend their February 14th present and bask in the little giggle she gives in appreciation. And then their smile evaporates as the sound of her thankful laughter does the same after she’s opened her gift.
All too often the women in their lives just aren’t all that excited about what they’ve received.
So this year, if those men are important to you, it’s time to step up to the plate and use your talents and insight to help these poor guys out. Talk to them, ask then what they’re getting their special gal, and if it seems fine, then no harm/no foul in having queried. But, if you find yourself going, ‘eh…really?’ Then it is time for you step in and take the reigns.
If you don’t know the love of his life that well, ask him some questions about her taste in jewelry, clothing, or fashion in general. What kind of stuff does she wear? Is she more into gold tones, or silver? Does she have a favorite gemstone color? What is her birthstone? Then head over to BrightlingsBeads.com – preferably with him at your side – and use your imagination to create that perfect gift, and keep him out of the doghouse, (at least until her birthday!) Or maybe you can just have him look at the Design Pages or Jewelry Kits at the site, and have him pick out what he thinks she would like the best – with some of your input, of course!
If you’re feeling daring, tell him you’ll walk him through the process of creating a piece himself, that way when she’s done fawning over her new jewelry he can gain a few extra points by adding that is an original work created by him specifically for her.
He’ll be happy, she’ll be happy, and you’ll be happy that you helped make this lovers’ holiday special. And Cupid will be very happy that you took a little bit of the burden off of him this year, and he may just show that gratitude with a special arrow pointed in your direction!
